The main purpose of our association is to improve our lives as we work in the Leominster Public School District. We work to promote the smooth functioning of this district by defending the rights and interests of our members, providing a forum for resolving disputes, and negotiating a fair and earnest contract with our district. Our working conditions are our students learning conditions.

It is vitally important that should you come across an instance within your school where you feel you have been mistreated by your teacher, administration or for other issues; your first point of contact should be your Building Rep.  If your Rep cannot advise you, he/she will contact the E-Board for assistance.  Often issues/concerns can be handled at this level and not be sent to our Local President, Cathy Andrews.  However, if needed our MTA Local and Regional Reps are there to answers questions and assist in anyway needed. The P.A.L.S. membership has reached an amazing total of over 165 members, employed throughout the 9 schools in our district. We are here to help each member, so please feel free to reach out in the time of need.

The MTA (Massachusetts Teachers Association) is a state affiliate of the NEA (National Education Association)  The MTA staff is assigned, as needed, to help us with Legal, Communications, Finances and Policies.  Your dues dollars go to three levels: local, state and national.  The NEA lobbies on behalf of members before Congress and also supports our local and state associations
